Mary's approach to instructing yoga is fun, playful, exploring, challenging at times and finding ease in the moment. Her mission is to share yoga techniques and philosophy in order to balance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Techniques include asana, breathing to reduce stress, centering, quieting the mind, and deep relaxation. With yoga methods such as these in our "toolbox", we always have access to "pull out a tool" to assist on this journey of life. Mary has been practicing yoga since 1996. What began as an exploration in seeking alternative treatments for severe allergy/eczema conditions, evolved into a lifelong journey of exploring the many facets of yoga. Practicing primarily Ashtanga yoga until moving to Kinsale in 2000, she explored other styles including Satyananda, Bikram, Kundalini, Anusara and others. She completed Contemporary Yoga 2-year certification with Marianne Gabriel and Charlie Stevens in 2003 and has been instructing since. After the birth of her 3 children, Mary turned her attention to sharing yoga with kids. Studying YogaKids (Marsha Wenig) and completing certification in Storytime Yoga with Sydney Solis in 2008. The fun and inspiring journey of doing yoga with children, has taken her down the path of studying Yoga Nidra(deep rest and enquiry) and receiving certification of 40 hour Sitaram Yoga Nidra Training by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Nirlipta Tuli in 2011. Mary is instructing yoga for children and adults and is currently enrolled in Storytime Yoga course "The Treasure in your Heart-Yoga and story for Peaceful Children" which is further study of healing wisdom yoga stories to use in classes. Mary has recently trained in Teen Yoga which she is very excited to share for it many benefits!
